A set of information security taxonomies for education and research.

Information security is becoming an increasing complex field. Novices are discouraged when facing dozens of tools, methods, cases, techniques. In order to make efficient trainings of broad variety of students a clear and cognitive overview is required.

Existing taxonomies of information security are build from a specific perspective: forensics, attack detection, intruder identification etc. None has been proposed for the sake of education or research.

Our past research has shown that a single taxonomy cannot be defined. Rather a set of taxonomies is being defined and a model for describing attacks AFTER they have been executed to make it easier to teach by example from existing cases.
