Copying Primus keys
Students from MIT published the source code of their application that lets you create 3D models of Primus keys.
As a reminder, Primus keys represent a series of keys that are extremely difficult to duplicate, and are used to protect access to sensitive facilities. Students claim that their application enables one to create 3D models using ordinary flatbed scanners or even photographs of a Primus key. Once a 3D model of the key has been obtained, it is possible to make a copy of the Primus key using a 3D printer. This procedure will be presented at this year's Defcon conference.
